18Montpellier Estate Holiday Homes – Overview
Located in a safe, tranquil, green, and upmarket neighbourhood of Pearl Marina in Somerset West, 18Montpellier Estate offers 7000 square metres with beautiful mountain views of both the Helderberg and Hottentots Holland mountain range. With the Manor House, The Rose Cottage, The Lodge self catering apartment, and the Thatch self catering holiday cottage sharing a green and lush garden, it offers plenty of open space and privacy for outdoor living. Two of the accommodations have a sparkling private swimming pool. There is free, safe, off-street parking available.
18 Montpellier is a quiet oasis that presents the perfect place for holidaymakers, wine & food lovers, and for those who want to play a round of golf on one of the more than 15 golf courses in the area. For the active vacationers, the nearby Helderberg Nature Reserve and Jonkershoek Nature Reserve offer plenty of hiking routes and mountain bike routes.
Somerset West is a celebrated destination sought out by visitors who seek the luxury of choice in a large variety of wine estates, golf courses and some of South Africa’s best restaurants. This charming town is famous for its tree-lined roads and some of South Africa’s oldest wine estates, Vergelegen and Lourensford.
You can see the incredible coastline of the False Bay region from our lovely patio, and get a glimpse of Strand Beach, which is only 15 minutes away. If you want to explore our coast further, Gordon’s Bay, Betty’s Bay, Kleinmond, and Hermanus are all within an hour of the lodge.
Alternatively, for the wine lovers, the historic town of Stellenbosch with its Cape Dutch houses is only 20 minutes’ drive away. Here, you find lovely boutiques, excellent wine bars and restaurants, and some of South Africa’s best wine estates.
Lastly, Cape Town is only half an hour away. It’s full of things to do, from having a shopping spree at the V&A Waterfront to enjoying some hikes up Table Mountain.
18 Montpellier is centrally located in the Helderberg region, making it ideal for those to explore or take a quick road trip. That said, with all our fantastic amenities – we’d totally understand if you’d prefer to just relax – whether that’s in the pool, on the patio, or having a ‘braai’ – using our BBQ grill.

We stayed in the 2-person lodge for a month. The location is reasonably central in Somerset West and a short distance from the beach, sea, and (large) shopping centers (15-20 min drive). The cottage itself features a kitchen equipped for 2 people, including a 4-burner hob (induction soon), oven, small microwave, air fryer, dishwasher, and washing machine. Because the cottage has not been in use for very long, certain aspects could still use some attention, such as decor/color. But that is a matter of personal taste. The bathroom is small, and the washbasin with two taps is outdated. The king-size bed is comfortable. The garage with an automatic door is a bit narrow for a large car, but our Land Rover just fit. The living room and bedroom have well-functioning air conditioning. Walking in the surrounding area does put a strain on your leg muscles. In short: if you want to visit Cape Town but do not want to stay in the (expensive) city itself, this is a nice place. The center of Cape Town is a little less than a 45-minute drive away (outside of rush hour). The price-quality ratio could still be improved. All in all, we can recommend the place.

Excellent and timely communication from a very friendly and helpful host. The cottage was very clean and tidy. It is fully equipped with everything you need. The views are spectacular and the pristine pool and gardens are beautiful. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

What a stunning cottage where we were able to stay for three weeks. Fully equipped with every convenience. Spacious bedrooms, excellent bathroom facilities, a cozy living room. A beautiful terrace where we could enjoy the lovely view in the sun every morning.
A swimming pool for swimming laps and a tip-top garden that is perfectly maintained by a very friendly young man.
Centrally located in a very quiet area. Great for taking the most beautiful trips in a nice rental car.
Highly recommended.

A large garden with stunning views and a wonderful pool. The house offers everything you need, including peace and quiet.
